Noto Italian Cuisine by Mr. Flatt & Leeuwin Wines

Kouji&ko Italian

11:30am, Sunday February 2

Simone Furlong, Co-CEO and second-generation steward of Leeuwin Estate from Margaret River, Western Australia, is visiting Japan this February, and together with Ben Flatt and Chikako Funashita, proprietors of “Flatt’s Noto | Noto Italian guesthouse”, an inn in Noto Town, Ishikawa Prefecture, she looks forward to hosting a unique collaboration lunch in Shibuya, Tokyo.

The menu, crafted exclusively for this event, will feature traditional fermented foods and fresh seafood from Noto, skillfully prepared by Ben. Guests will enjoy the meal on exquisite Wajima lacquerware, rescued and restored as part of the Flatts’ efforts through the Noto Earthquake Area Reconstruction Support General Incorporated Association (Noto-Sapo) which they founded and lead.

This event offers a rare opportunity to experience the flagship wines of Leeuwin Estate, the rich culinary culture of the Noto Peninsula, engaging conversations with Simone, and the artistry of Wajima lacquerware. We warmly invite you to join this exceptional gathering.

People have generously supported the Noto-Sapo through donations and initiatives, including the use of wines damaged during the disaster. We hope this lunch further highlights the activities of this important cause and garners continued support. At the venue, there will also be an exhibition of restored Wajima lacquerware sets and charity initiatives.
