2014 Prelude Vineyards Chardonnay
Prelude Vineyards wines are made from fruit producing the most readily expressive wines, with the objective that they will drink well soon after release. Whilst still retaining ageing potential they impart typical Margaret River impact and character. The Prelude label celebrates Leeuwin’s association with the musical arts through the staging of the annual Leeuwin Concert Series.

"Cool crushed with some skin contact, then pressed, 100% fermented in French oak (40% new) with a mix of wild and cultured yeasts, matured for 9 months. Most chardonnay vignerons would give their eye teeth to have a wine as good as this as their entry point. Light bright colour, and a juicy array of nectarine, white peach and gentle citrus fruit have distracted all attention from the oak. A lovely wine. 2029. Five Stars."
Halliday Magazine, April 2016
"2014 Prelude Chardonnay can never again be referred to as the second wine from Leeuwin because it is, in its own right, a remarkable wine. I gave this wine 18.5/20 in my notes and then looked back - this is the same score I gave to Art Series in years gone by and this shows the progress that this winery continues to make year on year. "
Matthew Jukes, Matthew Jukes 100 Best Australian Wines Report 2017
"Bright ripe melon and other tropical fruits, peaches too. Gently nutty, complex and stylish wine. The palate is richly flavored, and acidity drives weighty Margaret River chardonnay texture. Drink now."

Halliday Wine Companion 2017
"Succulent mango and peach flavours are ripe and lush, with spicy details and lemon zest notes on the finish. Intense and lively. Drink now through 2020."
MaryAnn Worobiec, Wine Spectator, 31 July 2016
"Editors' Choice The Art Series' little brother is all grown up and ready to stand on its own as a terrific wine. Toasted hazelnuts accent bold pineapple and ripe citrus flavors in this fullbodied, slightly creamy bottling. It's complete and complex, with a long, zesty finish. Drink now-2020."
Wine Enthusiast February 2017, Advance Buying Guide
"Elegant and stylish, with a fresh, pure and primary bouquet of white peach backed by vanilla and buttery oak with creamy, cashew-like undertones. It's smooth and elegant, long and brightly lit, with flavours of peach, grapefruit and tropical fruits finely balanced with fresh oak and a bright, refreshing acidity."
