The colour is medium straw with hints of green. The nose has lifted aromatic floral characters of mandarin and orange marmalade. A very well balanced and dry palate, finishing clean and long with lingering sweet citrus fruit, but delicate in structure. Superb drinking now, but with medium ageing potential. An ideal accompaniment to seafood dishes.
"This Western Australia beauty is bone-dry but far from being austere. Bright aromas of grapefruit and lime tickle the nose. Citrus and limes dance on the palate, and the finish is gloriously long."Sandra Silfven
Leeuwin Art Series Riesling 2001 features in the September issue of Decanter Magazine in their New World Riesling tasting, and is a Recommended wine: "Broad, fruity, straightforward, some citrus, nice weight".
"One of the best Leeuwin rieslings, with fragrant citrus, bath salt aromas and an enticing floral note... There is much life in this Margaret River gem."David Pike, Business News, February 28th, 2002
