2002 Prelude Vineyards Chardonnay

Winemaker's Tasting Notes

Colour is bright straw with green hues.

The harmonious nose shows lifted pears and cashews with underlying French oak flavours from the barrel fermentation. It is fresh and fruity with obvious richness and length.

The initial impact on the palate is sweet pear skin with hints of malty characters followed by a soft rich middle palate and a clean acid finish. The wine has good length and a lovely lingering aftertaste. As with the nose the French oak is well integrated with the delicate fruit.
