The colour is a very light transparent straw green. With an intensity and depth of flavour typical of Leeuwin Estate, the nose shows a wonderful complex combination of gooseberry, green grass, white currants and green bean with hints of passionfruit and other tropical flavours. The zingy palate is full and luscious with strong flavours of gooseberry, passionfruit and tropical fruits with green grassy edges, a lime finish and a lingering aftertaste. A very pleasant fresh fruity wine that can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with seafood.
"93 points - Fresh and focused, with pungent aromas of lychees and gooseberries with grassy, almost sweaty undertones. Round and juicy, it's long and tangy, becoming more lean, taut and mineral towards its finish of concentrated citrusy fruit and refreshing, tingling acidity."Jeremy Oliver, The Australian Wine Annual, 2009
"92 points - Ripe, charming tropical fruit aromas, the palate has some style and measure, plenty of fruit, bright and elegant, building texture through to the finish, finishing fresh and impeccably balanced."WBM, July 2008
"With all the kudos for the chardonnay, this very good sav blanc can be overlooked. It shouldn't be because it has been a super wine for many years. This is a cracker. All fresh and zesty with a lightly herbaceous character and plenty of lingering fruit."West Australian, November, 2007
"This offering, again from the West, shows riper tropical fruitsbut with hints of freshly cut grass on the nose. Full of fruit, crisp and dangerously easy to drink, this is a crowd pleaser."David Bone, BMagazine, 22nd April, 2008
