2006 Art Series Sauvignon Blanc

Winemaker's Tasting Notes

The colour is a brilliant transparent light straw with bright green tinges. The bouquet is benchmark varietal Leeuwin Estate Sauvignon Blanc; intense aromas of crushed gooseberry, green melon, cut grass and lifted white currant intermingling with floral and lime citrus characters. The pure varietal fruit flavours appear again on the palate with intense gooseberry, green apple and a succulent and tangy citrus acid of the very finest Sauvignon Blancs. The palate is long and balanced indicating both style and definition. The layers of flavour have the clarity and freshness from a standout vintage year for the southern part of the Margaret River region.

Comments

"Punchy aromas of gooseberries, passionfruit and melon with lightly herbaceous and lemony undertones precede a juicy, unctuous palate whose brightly lit fruit has a lifted tropical aspect. Long, clean and refreshing, it's a classic example of this maker's style."
Jeremy Oliver, 2008 Wine Annual
