2004 was another superb year for Riesling from Leeuwin Estate.
Colour is very pale straw with lime green hues.
The nose indicates the quality of the wine's style with a combination of lifted floral orange blossom and lime aromas with flinty edges.
A wine of good length displaying the typical Riesling flavours of citrus fruits. Featuring a combination of lime and mandarin the palate evolves into a finish of balanced acidity.
This clean fresh and crisp style of wine lends itself to be enjoyed with freshly shucked oysters and Asian dishes.
"Delicious, precise and excellent, but this Riesling isn’t built to satisfy the masses. Its acidity is scouring and it gives the wine a tartness that makes your mouth water."Jordan Mackay - Editor of Wine Enthusiast Aug 2006
"Clean and fragrant; a delicate mix of apple, lime and mineral with good length. As good as they come from the region." Screwcap. 12% alc. Rating 90. Drink 2011James Halliday - Australian Wine Companion 2007 Ed
"88 pts - Leeuwin Estate Art Series Riesling 2004.
Clean, zesty lime and preserved lemon flavors build a light intensity into this riesling. The flavors last, ready to chill for Dungeness crab."US Wine & Spirits magazine – February 2006
"The flinty, earthy 2004 Riesling Art series exhibits tart, underripe apricot and peach-like notes, medium body, a touch of minerality, and a dry, long finish. It should drink well for 1- 2 years. (89 points)"Robert Parker Jnr, The Wine Advocate, USA, October 31, 2005
"Light silver-straw color. Tangy, bright, mineral-inflected aromas of pink grapefruit, lime peel and quinine. Precise and firm, with refreshing tangerine, peach pit and ruby red grapefruit flavors. The long, mouthwatering finish shows excellent depth and cut. 90 points."Stephen Tanzer, www.wineaccess.com, July 2005
"... Riesling does not come much more vibrant and tangy than this. Wonderful sugar/acid balance and flavour".The Daily Telegraph STYLE, page 47, Wednesday, 18 May 2005
"Completing Leeuwin Estate's latest releases is the 2004 Art Series Riesling, a fresh, delicately structured wine easily measuring up to the lofty benchmark Cartwright has set for this wine."The Sunday Times Body + Soul, page 14, Sunday, 24 April 2005
"Lively, refreshing and distinctly Riesling, with floral, lemon and lime flavors that end with a lovely mineral note. The finish persists deftly. 89 points."Wine Spectator Reviews - 15 May 2005

"4 1/2 stars - yum - the best wine I tasted all night at Bank in the Hotel Icon; bracing acidity, minerals, citrus and lime flavors; excellent wine;Michael Lonsford Houston Chronicle June 19, 2006 www.HoustonChronicle.com
"Lemon-coloured straw with medium body and slight spritz. It is dry and a little puckering at times, but other elements balance the acidity as they do the minerality. The finish is long and lip-smacking. The wine has a frothy viscous quality, almost as if the fruit inside has left some of its pulp.
Although the wine really takes off in the mouth, thew nose gives a good preamble. The minerality is followed quickly by a general citrus note and a floral element."Elliott Essman, Style and Gourmet Food Writing, 2007
